Has anyone done a loan mod., Where they were forced into special forbearance prior to the amendment?

I have asked for a change loan – I want my rate reduced. My payments have always been done on time and provided that the total amount of P & I. I recently requested a Loan Modification. My bank turned to me and asked me to sign a special forbearance agreement for payment plans for the next 3 months to allow more time to check to see if you can modify. Has anyone experienced this before? Is it usually come with a change after the previous 3 months? Also, this special forbearance hurt my credit report, even though they have never been or have missed a payment? I want to do that indulgence is not displayed in my report once it has and once. Thank you.

I am going through the same thing with my Mortgage company (Chase) and I just got my papers yesterday. I was a bit of hope of finding some me the information. I have to have the same 3 months "probation." Are your payments be any chaeper for 3 months?
